Measuring White Specks in Dyed Cotton Fabrics Using the Optimas Imaging System
P. Bel and T. Von Hoven
Pages: 293-299
Scanning electron microscopy shows that white specks are a mass of immature fibers that have flat, ribbon-like appearance. They appear on the surface of darkly dyed fabrics as specks or non-uniform streaks. To eliminate subjective analysis of white specks on fabrics, procedures to quantify white specks using image analysis are described.
