Pictured in the foreground, just behind the cactus, is the wild, non-cultivated Brazilian species of cotton, Gossypium mustelinum (Miers ex G.Watt), growing in situ along a small river bank habitat in the Brazilian state Bahia (image kindly provided by Dr. Paulo Borroso of EMBRAPA). In this issue, researchers report the development and describe the phenotypes of interspecific F1 hypoaneuploids between G. hirsutum and G. mustelinum.
